On Saturday 17th May, North Group Community Outreach Lead, Marco Poynter, Attended the Horsham Centre to recognise those Lodges that contributed to a fund to support a local football team.
Broadbridge Heath Butterflies are a pan-disability team launched last year by BBH FC (The Bears) in conjunction with The Butterfly Project to engage people with a variety of disabilities in sport.
Last Summer Marco approached Lodges in Horsham to ask if they’d be interested in becoming the Butterflies’ main sponsor. In March representatives of the Lodges met with the team to launch the partnership.
Richard Collyer Lodge were honoured to receive a “Number 3” shirt, signed by members of the team, on behalf of all the supporting Lodges at their Installation meeting.
Pete Hansen, Chair of the Horsham Masonic Centre, thanked Marco for involving Horsham Lodges in this initiative and commented on the appropriateness of the number of the shirt. He said that it will be hung in a conspicuous place within the Normandy Centre.
